Department of Civil Engineering

About

Civil Engineering is perhaps the broadest of all the Engineering fields, for it deals with large buildings, roads, bridges, canals, rail road lines, airports, water supply systems, dams, irrigation, harbors, tunnels, and other Engineered constructions. In the next two decades, India is expected to double its infrastructure facilities in terms of buildings, road ways, water supply, power generation, sport & airports. Project like golden chariot, 4 lane, 6 lane road, metro rail and sky bus projects requires a number of diploma civil Engineers. The other reason for the demand is due to shift in concentration towards IT field. The earnings of civil engineers has surpassed the IT engineers. A high demand for diploma Civil Engineers has arisen in all cities and towns.

Lab Facilities

The department has laboratories for

  • Surveying (Including Advanced Total Station and GPS)
  • Computer aided design and drafting
  • Material testing lab
  • Construction Practice lab
  • Hydraulics and  Plumbing laboratory.
