Konghu Velalar Polytechnic College was empowered to launch in the year 2007.It is a private self financing co-education polytechnic college run by Sree Kongunadu Educational Trust, to promote educational needs.

Civil Engineering is perhaps the broadest of all the Engineering fields, for it deals with large buildings, roads, bridges, canals, rail road lines,airports, water supply systems, dams, irrigation, harbours, tunnels, and other Engineered constructions.
Dept of Petrochemical Engineering
India with excellent refining capacity ranks sixth in the world with public/private like Reliance, Essar, ONGC-MRPL, HPCL, BPCL, IOC etc., with five more LNG terminals and 10,000+retail outlets to be commissioned shortly.Salary in Oil & Gas industry set to rise by large amount (Economic times 3rd Oct 2007) and huge shortage of skilled manpower in the oil and gas industry in the year 2012 (Petrofed report).
